The Obama Doctrine

Aside from the wooden performance, there was nothing particularly noteworthy about President Barack Obama’s Oval Office address on Iraq last night. The President again evinced the impression that he viewed Iraq as a distraction, and hetwice said he wanted to “turn the page” to other issues. As forgettable as the address was however, once placed into the broader context of foreign policy speeches and actions, a clear Obama Doctrine can now be defined, as James Carafano and Kim Holmes do in a new paper released today.

  • Downplaying American Sovereignty
  • Soft-Pedaling American Power
  • A More Restrained America
  • A More Humble America

Obama’s Stimulus: Has he failed?

The American people know the President’s stimulus has failed. A new CBS poll out today shows that 74 percent of Americans believe the Obama stimulus either damaged the economy or had no effect. And a Washington Post poll released Tuesday again showed that a majority of Americans disapprove of President Obama’s handling of the economy. So how on earth can the White House claim they “saved or created” 3 million jobs? By rerunning the same economic models that predicted the stimulus would prevent unemployment from ever rising above 8%. That’s right. The White House’s 3 million jobs number is not based on any real world data.

More Obama Jobs

The Lawyers and Lobbyists Full Employment Act

Without spending a single dime, the Obama administration did more yesterday to create jobs for the U.S. economy than it has throughout its entire existence. With the single stroke of a pen, President Barack Obama signed the Dodd-Frank financial regulation bill that set in motion 243 new formal rule-makings by 11 different federal agencies. Each of the 243 rule-makings will employ hundreds of banking lobbyists as they try to shape what the final actual laws will look like. And when the rules are finally written, thousands of lawyers will bill millions of hours as the richest incumbent financial firms that caused the last crisis figure out how to game the new system.

July 2010-Quarterly Meeting

I want to give everyone that attended our Quarterly Meeting a big pat on the back. It takes effort to do things out of our routine and attend meetings at 7pm in the evening. I thank you so much and recognize you as Patriots of the Liberty County Republican Party.

An important item approved at our meeting was a Plaque of Appreciation that will be presented to Gunny Jorgenson. It is good to recognize Members that have made positive contributions to the Party.

I also want to publicly thank SREC Committee Member, Rosemary Roe, for attending and presenting an informative program pertaining to Precinct Chair Training. She did a great job and as always inspired us with her very apparent passion and dedication to the Party.

Our next Quarterly meeting will occur in Mid-September. We hope to see you there.

Andy

52% Favor Repeal of Health Care Bill

Most voters still favor repeal of the national health care bill, but support for repeal has fallen to its lowest level since the bill passed in March. Voters remain skeptical, however, about the impact of the plan on the deficit and on the quality and cost of health care. A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 52% of voters favor repeal of the health care bill, while 40% are opposed.

Economic Collapse?

You think its bad now?

Tax Hikes and the 2011 Economic collapse

Sometimes people hold back when making public statements because of trying not to offend anyone or perhaps to avoid hurt feelings. I also take those things into consideration when making public statements.

But…I need to let everyone know where I stand as far as Local, State, and National Political thought.

As the Chair of the Liberty County Republican Party I encourage Republicans to vote a Straight Party-Ticket. I make no bones about it. It is a tool that we as Republicans can use to turn Liberty County into a Conservative Republican Voting Force.

If we employ this political tactic, it not only will move Conservative thought process into Liberty County Politics but will also enable us individually and as a Party to send a message to our National Leaders that we do not agree with the Pelosi, Reid, and Obama Socialist Form of Government.

My country-boy gut feeling is that if we continue the economic and political course that the Left-Wing Democrat Party is taking us down, our Country will cease to exist as we know it.

It now becomes your duty to use your vote to rid the United States of America of the Change that Obama has brought to our country. You can begin this process by replacing the local Democrat Government with people who believe in Less Government, Individual Freedom, and a Strong National Defense.

Vote for a Republican Liberty County Government!

SCOTUS Buzz

From National Review Online:

Krauthammer’s Take   [NRO Staff]

On the question of who will replace John Paul Stevens:

The timing is crucial. This is an election year and I can now see a delegation of the endangered Senate Democrats walking into the Oval Office — Harry Reid, Arlen Specter, Michael Bennet of Colorado, Blanche Lincoln — saying: Please, Mr. President, we’re hanging by a thread after health care and the stimulus. With all that happened in the last month to your agenda which we supported, don’t hit with us Diane Wood, a left ideologue who believes not only in the left-wing causes but believes that the role of the court is to impose itself on issues like abortion or gay marriage.
